Yosemite National Park - Mariposa Grove

요세미티 국립공원의 남쪽 끝에 위치해 있는 Mariposa Grove는 500그루의 거대 세쿼이아들이 있는 작은 숲이다. Mariposa Grove에 있는 가장 오래된 세쿼이아는 3000년이 넘었을 것으로 추정된다. 거대 세쿼이아들 앞에 서면 정말 그 크기에 압도당한다. 수백 년 전에 넘어진 것으로 추정되는 Fallen Monarch를 시작으로 Wawona Point까지 나 있는 트레일을 따라 Mariposa Grove에서 유명한 여러 거대 세쿼이아들을 만나 볼 수 있다. Mariposa Grove에서 가장 큰 세쿼이아인 Grizzly Giant와, 터널처럼 뚫려진 California Tunnel Tree, 빨래 집게처럼 생긴 Clothespin Tree 등이 유명하다.
